What’s New?

Continuing Prayer Watches on Friday nights
We will be meeting at Congregacion Leon de Juda-  http://leondejuda.org/en/content every Friday night  from 7-9pm throughout the summer  to pray for all the ministries at Leon de Juda, including a time to pray against human trafficking!  Stop by and join us!

City in Focus Monthly Conference calls
July will be our seventh monthly conference call agreeing in prayer with Exodus Cry’s “City in Focus” –http://exoduscry.com/ .   We will be shifting our prayer to the region of Central Asia– http://exoduscry.com/prayer/central-asia/.  This month’s City In Focus: Almaty, Kazakhstan– http://exoduscry.com/prayer/city-in-focus/almaty-kazakhstan/

Awareness and Action Workshop being organized
I had the privilege to meet  with  Sarah Durfey( Egc.org/abolition)  and Tobias Marx( the outreach director for Grace Community Church in Chelmsford)  Tobias is organizing a workshop at his church to inform how we can “take action’ and learn about human trafficking. I was encouraged to see his heart to bring awareness, and get others involved!  This workshop will be held in early November.  Stay tuned for more information in the near future!

An independent investigation into Nestlé‘s cocoa supply chain has found numerous child labor violations and kickstarted an ambitious plan to eventually eradicate forced labor and child labor in its production cycle. 

Schools Fighting Back Against Child Sex Trafficking

For the first time in a decade the US State Department‘s Trafficking in Persons Report for 2012, Israel was placed on the first tier of countries that fully comply with the minimum required standards to eliminate trafficking
this is an indication that, despite all the work that lies ahead, we are winning this battle.

Prayer Requests

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those who are perishing.
Proverbs 31:8

 As the Olympic Games come to London this July, pray for intervention on behalf of thousands of women forced into the sex trade in the United Kingdom
Pray for swift breakthrough and that trafficking networks would be exposed.
Intercede for the laborers who have been waging war against this injustice, that they would be strengthened and renewed to double their efforts during the Olympics.
Pray for the light of Christ (John 1:5) to penetrate the most sinister places of darkness where the injustice of human trafficking is found in the UK.

Learn/Get Involved

 Learn to do good. Work for justice. Help the down-and-out. Stand up for the homeless. Go to bat for the defenseless.   Isaiah 1:17

Information on Starbucks Coffee:
The coffee is not with fair trade, but they do give fair wages and provide their farmers support. The tea and cocoa are ethically traded as well
